Shooting With Ellen Atlanta

Ellen from ellen-atlanta.com

Trying to do a shoot at LFW is a bit tricky, when other photographers are surrounding you trying to take shots too.
Something I've been wanting to do for a while is shoot blog photos for another blogger and knew when I got my client project for uni that was what I was going to do. In case you don't know I am currently studying Fashion Styling & Photography, specialising in photography at uni. I contacted Ellen to see if she would want to collab for my client based project & her blog and was glad when she was happy to work with me.
She's such a lovely girl in person, so glad we got to meet and work together. She'd never been to London Fashion Week before & wasn't prepared for the swarm of photographers that approached her every time we tried to get around the courtyard. Literally every time I was about to take a photo somebody appeared beside or behind me.
That's just part of the fashion week experience I guess.
Check out Ellen's post on this outfit for details here
Pictures have been added to my portfolio as well, link below.

LFW Feb'15 Street Style

All photos taken by me

Fashion week in London has come to an end. I snapped some of my favourite outfits & faces on the last day.
I have to say, my last two weeks have been great! In terms of the experience I've had and the people I've met, this has by far been the best fashion week for me. I started it off at Shade London's pre-LFW party last Thursday which was so much fun, followed by shows at Fashion Scout throughout the week and lastly spent hours at Somerset House getting street style shots. The street style is really what I'm about as I love to see how people dress although you can definitely tell who's trying way too hard. As usual I saw the odd blogger throughout fashion week, as you do and some great individual items & styles. I also met up with the lovely blogger Ellen Atlanta and did a shoot with her at Somerset House which I will be using for my uni project & I will share soon. Her as well as the many other lovely girls I met during the week really made it enjoyable. Two goals I've been wanting to achieve for a while are to 1) attend a fashion show and, 2) shoot blog photos for someone. Now I can say those goals are achieved, on to the next one! I can't wait for next season.

If photos are used elsewhere, please credit me x

Wild At Heart

Wild At Heart | Photographed by me | Creative Directed & Styled by Chanel

I'm currently writing this an hour before I'm posting it. It's finally my birthday month & I'm so excited for Christmas. I can't believe the year has gone so quick but I can not wait to start a new year with new opportunities and new goals.

I'm currently in second year at uni on my fashion styling & photography course with photography as my chosen specialism and I'm so glad to make it to the end of the first term in one piece because second year is a mission I was not prepared for.
My friend Chanel asked me to collab with her and shoot her uni project editorial and I have to say, even though I say this after most shoots, I'm so happy with the outcome and this is some of my favourite work so far! I love the creative direction behind it based on the 70s and being free, add Highgate Woods to the equation and the 'Wild At Heart' editorial comes to life. She explains the shoot idea more here

I have also added my favourites to my portfolio online so please have a look there too.

Occasionally I Take Shots

Shot by Me | Styling & Model - @taylahelaine | Makeup - @doyinrosemua

Something I haven't done for a while on my blog is share my photography work.
In case you don't know I currently study Fashion Styling & Photography and studied Photography previously at ALevels. It is a extreme love, occasional hate interest of mine. I've wanted to be a fashion photographer for a while now but have been put off by uni projects and lack of motivation. However, my friend contacted me the other day and asked if I wanted to shoot some photos for her styling portfolio. I decided to push myself and go for it, especially as I'm supposed to remaining in touch with my creative side this holidays (which has failed miserably) and I need to update my photography portfolio. I have to say this is probably some of my best work yet and I am very proud of it. My friend styled & modelled it and her friend did the makeup, which she taught herself from watching YouTube!! Then I took the shots, there were so many to edit so I had to choose my favourites. I picked out some for this post but I'm planning to make some form of online portfolio of my work altogether, so watch this space for that.
Hope you like them.

Judgement.

*currently sitting in Pret blogging this quick post because my mum thought it'd be a good idea to cut the internet during half term hence why I have been missing since 19th March*

Oh how I've missed blogging for the past weeks. I'm in exam preparation for photography and
I wanted to share some of the photos I've produced. These were inspired by the photographer Lee Kirby who took a series of photos of people with tattoos and without. The shoot was named Judgement and I interpreted it as how we judge people differently on appearances. All the tattoos and piercings in my photos are photoshopped in and I tried to make it as realistic as possible. I'm happy with the outcome as this is the first time I've done photoshopping like that.

So now i'm off until my next trip to Pret or when I go back to college or get internet. Whichever one of those occur first.

Monochrome.

The latest shoot I did for my photography coursework. It was one of those light bulb moments, unplanned, happened there and then. Based around the current trend, Monochrome. Used Canon 1100D to take these photos, really want that camera!

London Fashion Week/Somerset House Day 5.

Today I took a trip down to Somerset House with a friend to get some photos of other fashion lovers as a basis for my photography work & for my blog. I absolutely loved it & recommend the 4 day event to everyone. Even though we didn't have any tickets it was such a lovely atmosphere in the courtyard, everyone was happy to have their photo taken. I managed to get some great photos of people and even got interviewed by some people from a style website! I fell in love with a womans satchel it was soo nice! I also snapped one of the LFW helpers because she had a lovely smile and natural beauty.
